Why Chase PDFs Need a Dedicated Converter

Chase leaves the year off each transaction row. The period header says something like “January 1, 2026 through January 31, 2026,” and every line is just 01/15. A generic PDF-to-Excel tool will give you January 15 with no year — useless for QuickBooks. StatementKit reads the statement period and writes 2026-01-15.

Chase.com can export recent activity as CSV, but that file does not match the official PDF: dates can differ, check images are missing, and the running balance is gone. Use the PDF when you are reconciling or handing records to a CPA.

Chase Statement Format Details

Checking and savings print Date, Description, Amount, and a running Balance. Debits are usually negative.
Credit cards (Sapphire, Freedom, Ink, Amazon) add a Post Date column next to Transaction Date.
Descriptions often start with prefixes such as “Purchase,” “ACH Debit,” “Zelle payment to,” or “Check #.”
Multi-page statements repeat headers. StatementKit drops those repeats so you do not get duplicate “Beginning balance” rows.
